Business Visitation Program
In an effort to work more proactively with a wider variety of our local businesses, Airdrie Economic Development is spearheading a Business Visitation Program (BVP) in conjunction with our new Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) initiative. The primary goal of our program is to identify and implement practices to better serve the Airdrie business community.
Over the last decade Airdrie has nearly doubled in size making our city one of the fastest growing municipalities in the country. And, during the last two years our business community has grown by more than 12% annually. While this high growth is great news for both our residents and our City, and signifies that our economy is strong, we need to ensure that the needs of our business community are being met so that our local economy continues to thrive over the long term. Existing businesses can generate up to 70% of all job growth and help create a strong foundation for community support and pride.
To achieve this goal, we have recruited local business and community leaders to be part of the Airdrie Ambassador Team. In the coming months, members of this team along with a representative from Airdrie Economic Development will be visiting 80 businesses to gather information about their needs and opinions of our community as a place to do business.
