About Us
Located on the east side of Airdrie right next to Genesis Place and East Lake Park, The Bert Church LIVE theatre is a fully equipped, live performing arts facility. The 377 soft seats on a raked house face a 10 metre wide proscenium arch stage. The Theatre has professional grade sound and lighting systems and is climate controlled for the comfort of our patrons. The Theatre also provides free off-street shared parking for all of its guests and is completely wheelchair accessible.
Our Season Programs at The Bert Church LIVE Theatre always have something for everyone. The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra anchors our list of classical presentations every year. The younger crowds have been entertained by such well known performers as Fred Penner, Splash N' Boots, Calgary Opera and more. Juno Award winner Al Simmons will keep the audience "howling" with his spooktacular Halloween show this October, while bilingual children's entertainer Will Stroet will engage young audiences in February.
International stars such as Sass Jordan, Michelle Wright, Barney Bentall, Rik Emmett, 54-40, Jeff Martin and Sylvia Tyson have all graced our stage in recent years. The list of scheduled performers for the 2011-12 Season includes many high profile acts such as Rik Emmett, Bif Naked, a double bill of The Grapes of Wrath & Odds, and the Crash Test Dummies to name just a few. Our full color season brochure highlights all of our Professional Series and Family Series each season.
In addition to presenting professional entertainers, the Theatre also hosts the BCT P.A.C.K performing arts classes for young people. These classes are offered throughout the school year and during week long summer camps at The Bert Church Theatre.
