City Plans

The Planning Department creates overall City Plans for adoption by City Council.  Before construction begins for any new project, City planners review development proposals for compliance with these plans.

Community
Establishes policy, land use and open space concepts, transportation network, and servicing alignments. These applications go to our Municipal Planning Commission as a referral body, and are approved by City Council.

Neighbourhood
Establishes a detailed development plan (land use, roads, parks, water management, etc.) These applications go to our Municipal Planning Commission as a referral body, and are approved by City Council.

Redevelopment
Establishes policies to redevelop an area (for preserving, improving, rehabilitating, re-establishing land and buildings in the area)
