Building Permit Requirments

Permits are required for:

Constructing a foundation to support a building or structure.
Erecting a new building or structure (including some retaining walls over 3 ft (900 mm) and swimming pools/ hot tubs 2 ft (600 mm) deep or more).
Demolishing, relocating, repairing, altering or making additions to an existing buildings or structures.
Installing or modifying all electrical, plumbing or gas installations. (eg. Fireplaces or garage heaters).
Installing a wood stove.
Decks over 2 ft (600 mm) in height from grade, to any point on the deck surface.

Permits will not be reviewed, approved or processed until payment has been received. Late permit applications may have their fees doubled.
