Description:
The Community Services Advisory Board oversees leisure services, social services (including FCSS allocations and Transit) and Parks and ensures that current and long range planning activities are carried out for leisure services, social services, and parks services. This includes recommendations to Council on:
Term:
Members are appointed on an annual basis by Council at the organizational meeting held in October of each year.
Meetings:
Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers. Meetings are usually 2-3 hours in length.

Issues Dealt with Over the Past Year:
Committee struck in 2007 as an amalgamation of the Regional Recreation Board and the Social Planning Board.
Over the past year the Regional Recreation Board has dealt with issues including the East Lake Recreation and Wellness Centre facility expansion, development of a policy with respect to the naturalization of parks - Integrated Pest Management Plan, direction and support for the East Lake Recreation and Wellness Centre, “Communities in Bloom” National City Beautification initiative in partnership with the Airdrie Horticultural Society.
Over the past year the Social Planning Board has dealt with completion of the Transit Review Process, and continued to examine affordable housing, the need for breakfast program(s), and the development of youth programs.
