Description:
The Subdivision and Development Appeal Board is a quasi-judicial board that handles appeals to the decisions of the Municipal Planning Commission or Development Officer regarding development permit or subdivision applications.
Term:
Members are appointed annually by resolution of Council at the Organizational Meeting. Effective January 1, 2007, the maximum number of consecutive years of service will be set at six (6) years. It is the intent of Council that 2007 will represent the first of six (6) years.
Meetings:
Meetings are held on an as required basis and must be held within 30 days of the receipt of an appeal. Meetings are usually less than 1 hour in length.
Issues Dealt with Over the Past Year:
The Board dealt mainly with commercial development permit appeals over the past year.
Issues for the Coming Year:
These are ongoing as issues arise from the planning side of the City.
