Q. Is my street looked after by the City?
A. The developer of the subdivision is responsible for all maintenance issues until approval of Final Acceptance Certificates (FAC). Once the FAC is approved the City will assume responsibility for the subdivision. Which areas are FAC'd?
Q. When will my street be cleaned?
A. If you live in a new subdivision area we ask you call Engineering Services at (403) 948-8800 ext 8835 if you feel your streets need to be attended too. If the area you live in is established, please contact Public Works at (403) 948-8415.
Q. What should I do when I am driving near a snowplow?
A. When you are driving behind a snow plow or a sander, stay at least 10 metres back. If you drive too closely or try to pass, blowing snow can obstruct your vision and bouncing sand can chip the paint on your vehicle.
Q: As a contractor, do I require permission to dig into a City Street or Road Right of Way?
A: Absolutely. You must complete the following application and provide the required deposit prior to doing any work with the City Streets or Road Right if Ways. Once you have obtained your permit, please contact Engineering Services (403)948-8800 ext 8835 to request an inspection.
