City Budget 2012
On December 19, 2011, Council approved the City of Airdrie's 2012 operating budget which will result in a property tax rate increase of 2.74 per cent or an increase of $3.33 per month for an average home in Airdrie. The 2012 $31 million capital budget was approved at the December 5 City Council meeting.

Incident at Genesis Place pool
At approximately noon today, an incident took place involving a child at the City of Airdrie's Genesis Place swimming pool. Lifeguards responded in a professional manner, using their skills until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The child was conscious and speaking to lifeguards when care was turned over to EMS. EMS transported the child to hospital.

Residents respond to water conservation call
The City of Airdrie saw a steady decrease in water consumption over the past few days. Residents and businesses responded to the call to voluntarily reduce water use by using 11.95 million litres on Tuesday, 11.91 on Wednesday and 11.8 on Thursday. The maintenance work is ongoing so residents are asked to continue the trend over the weekend.

School Zones to start earlier in Airdrie
At their regular Council meeting November 7, 2011, Airdrie City Council approved an amendment to a traffic bylaw to change the posted start time for School Zones to 7:30am from the current 8:00am. The change will take place immediately.
