Is there a City tree in my yard?
Trees located in parks and boulevards are easily identified as City trees, but there are many City of Airdrie trees located on residential lots.
Many residents do not realize there is a small portion behind the sidewalk or curb is City titled land. The size of the area varies from lot to lot (0.5 m to 4 m), but any tree located 50 per cent or greater on the street side of the property line is protected and maintained by the Parks Department.
If you have a tree in your front yard and are unsure if it is a City of Airdrie tree, please call the Parks Department at (403) 948-8400.
These trees are inventoried and protected by the City of Airdrie under the Urban Forest Policy and the City of Airdrie asks residents help protect these assets to the community.
