If you need a venue for a reunion, birthday party or even a small retreat, book one of the City of Airdrie’s picnic shelters, fire pit areas, ball diamonds or soccer fields.

Fire Pits & Picnic Shelters

All fire pits and picnic shelters are available FREE of charge to the entire community thanks to the contributions from local business, the City of Airdrie and the Scout Groups.

To Book:

  1. Call the Parks Department at (403) 948-8400 for availability and forms.
  2. All users must obtain a Parks & Recreation Licence Agreement and provide proof of liability insurance in the amount of $2 million with the City of Airdrie shown as an additional insured.

Groups or individuals that do not have this type of coverage in place can apply for Facility User Group Insurance through the City of Airdrie's insurance carrier at a minimum cost of $125 (or more) per day depending on your event. The insurance carrier requires a minimum 10 days prior to the event to process your insurance application.

Agreements and the key for the fire pit may be obtained at the Parks Public Works Building at 15 East Lake Hill, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please contact the Parks Department, (403) 948-8400 to book your event.

The following picnic shelters are available:

  • Nose Creek Park - 1691 Main Street
    The 3rd Airdrie Scout's large fire pit is located northwest of the playground. Benches seat 60 - 70 people.
    Shelter, concession & public bathrooms.
  • East Lake Park - East Lake Road
    The 2nd Airdrie Scout's large fire pit is located beside the Scout Hall. Benches seat 20 - 30 people.
    Shelter & public bathrooms.

Bring your own firewood and water (and/or) bucket to extinguish fires.

For sports field bookings agreements and applications, and to ensure your booking won't interrupt scheduled league play, please call the Parks Department at 403-948-8800.

Ball Diamonds

Airdrie has 25 ball diamonds and can be booked at no charge for Airdrie residents. Non-residents wishing to book diamonds may do so, subject to availability, at a cost of $330 + GST per diamond per weekend.

Athletic Fields (soccer/football)

The 38 athletic fields located in various areas around the City can be booked for league play or for personal use by Airdrie residents. Non-league residents can book the fields, subject to availability, at a cost of $70 + GST per field per day.

Non-residents wishing to book these fields may do so, subject to availability, at a cost of $145 + GST per field per day.

East Lake Athletic Park

Located at 800 East Lake Boulevard NE in Airdrie

$52.50 per hour (GST included)
$315.00 per 8 hour day use (GST included).

Liquor Approvals

  1. "The Lessee" must provide a written request to the Parks Unit for approval to hold a liquor permit in a City park and must accompany a Parks Representative to an Airdrie Community Services Advisory Board Meeting which is held on the second Monday of every month at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers - 400 Main Street SE.
  2. "The Lessee" must adhere to the Community Services Advisory Board's recommendations on location and hours of operation - No Dances Permitted.
  3. "The Lessee" must obtain the proper approvals from the Alberta Liquor Control Board, and provide such proof to the Parks Unit.
  4. "The Lessee" must provide third party liability insurance including host liquor liability with the City of Airdrie named as an additional insured.
