Automated Utility Meter Reading
Most homes in Airdrie are already on an automated meter reading system. The automated system helps reduce water consumption and is more efficient for utility readers. However, there are about 6,000 meters left to convert over to the new system.

The City of Airdrie has contracted Metercor Inc. to perform the upgrades. This is being carried out on a community by community basis and Metercor is currently contacting all residents who are required to have the upgrade to set up appointments. Evening and Saturday appointments are available. There is no charge for the new reading system or for the installation and it is a simple process that will take approximately 30 minutes.

Flat Rates on Water and Sewer Bills
The flat rate portion of the water and sewer bill will no longer include any allowance for consumption. All water and sewer consumption as measured at the water meter will be charged as consumption.
