Paying Your Utility Bill

Life is complicated. Paying your utility bill shouldn’t be. To help keep it simple, the City of Airdrie offers seven payment options. Choose the option that is right for you and return your payment to the City of Airdrie by the date specified on your bill.

Seven Ways to Pay

1. Pay online or by phone through your bank.
By paying online or through your financial institution, not only will you avoid a trip to your mailbox or the drive to City Hall, but you will also save the cost of a cheque and a stamp. Most banking institutions have the City of Airdrie listed for making payments via the Internet or telephone banking. You can set up your payments through the following banking institutions: ATB, BMO, CIBC, Credit Union, HKBC, RBC, Scotia and TD.

Please be sure to use all eight digits of your account number without the decimal point. Payments are received and processed by the City within two to three days.

2. Sign-up for the City's Pre-authorized Payment Plan.
The amount due on your City of Airdrie utility bill will be withdrawn from you bank account on the ‘Current Charge Due Date”. You are welcome to apply for this service at any time. Contact City of Airdrie Utility Customer Service Representatives at (403) 948-8859 for more information.

3. Sign-up for the City's Pre-authorized Budget Payment Plan
A preset amount will be withdrawn from your bank account on the 31st of each month rather then a single payment every two months. Contact City of Airdrie Utility Customer Service Representatives at (403) 948-8859. Find more information regarding our Pre-authorized Payment Plans. Once you have signed up for the program, your only responsibility will be to quickly review your bill. By monitoring your bill and your water usage, you can ensure that problems such as leaky faucets and running toilets do not wreak havoc on the cost of your utilities.

When is the payment withdrawn from my account?
Withdrawals are made on the 31st of each month. Sufficient funds or bank approved overdraft protection should be available on the bank account when payment is withdrawn to avoid NSF charges. Any payment returned NSF would result in termination of the plan and a NSF fee being added to the account. All outstanding balances and NSF fees become subject to penalties.
