City of Airdrie rate changes are effective January 1, 2012, and will be reflected on your January and February bills.

Garbage, Residential

The City's Waste Bylaw has established two types of fees, which are billed bi-monthly in conjunction with the water and sewer charges.

 

Billing Period Base Rate for the residential collection of a maximum of two units once per week from any premises	$20.34
Billing Period Additional Rate for the provision of waste management services (other than residential collection from any premises)	$12.79

 

The residential collection charge is strictly for garbage collection services and is applied only to homeowners. The additional rate or environmental service charge is the fee for provision of recycling, composting (both backyard and community composting), household hazardous waste collection, Spring Clean-up and other environmental programs. All homeowners, apartment and condominium occupants are charged the environmental service fee.

In total, a homeowner is billed $33.13 bi-monthly for garbage. Apartment and condominium occupants are billed $12.79 bi-monthly. The unit limit is two units per week. Customers with more than two units can purchase stickers for $3.00
