Heather Spearman elected Mayor of Airdrie (unofficial results)

AIRDRIE, AB — The City of Airdrie is announcing the unofficial mayoral election result from the October 20, 2025, Municipal election. Heather Spearman has received the highest number of votes sitting at 5,291 and is projected to serve as Airdrie’s next Mayor, pending official confirmation by the Returning Officer.

Ballots for Councillor and Public School Trustee positions are still being counted. As results are confirmed, they will be posted at airdrie.ca/election-results.

“Thank you to every voter who participated and to our election workers who helped deliver a fair, accessible and transparent process,” said Charlotte Satink, Returning Officer. “Unofficial results are posted as quickly as possible. Official results will be declared once verification is complete on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at noon, in accordance with the Local Authorities Election Act.”

What “unofficial” means
Unofficial results are preliminary and subject to verification. The Returning Officer will declare the official results once all quality assurance steps are completed and there is no requirement of a recount due to a close race.
