February 3, 2014 / For Immediate Release

AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – The City of Airdrie is encouraging residents to nominate their friends and neighbours who are making a difference in the community for a Volunteer of the Year Award. These annual awards acknowledge outstanding contributions of Airdrie’s volunteers.

“The City of Airdrie has long valued the contributions that volunteers in this community have made,” says Robbie White, Community Developer for the City of Airdrie. “Volunteering is a tradition that Airdrie citizens continue to uphold. Volunteerism is a selfless act, but it one that deserves to be recognized. It is for this reason that the City would like to encourage residents to nominate the outstanding volunteers in our community,” adds White.

Residents can nominate a volunteer by filling out an online application form at airdrie.ca.
