Ask an Airdrie Expert connects businesses and professional services

March 20, 2014 / For Immediate Release

AIRDRIE, ALBERTA - On April 3, Airdrie Economic Development will host its third offering of Ask an Airdrie Expert, a program designed to connect local businesses with professional services.

The Ask an Airdrie Expert, which is modeled after The Business Link’s popular Guest Advisor program, was introduced in 2012 and has been held bi-annually since.

The program connects Airdrie businesses with volunteer local experts representing a variety of professions to:

  • provide opportunities for businesses to ask topic-specific questions in a safe, welcoming, no cost and no obligation environment
  • introduce businesses to the professional resources available locally
  • educate business owners about how working with business professionals can benefit their business

“To date, we’ve connected more than 30 entrepreneurs and business owners with local professionals,” says Sara Chamberlain, Economic Development Officer. “The feedback from past participants is overwhelmingly positive and they told us the program helped them improve their business practices.”

At Ask an Airdrie Expert, participants pre-register for a free 20-minute confidential consultation with a local expert in a specific profession. Experts available on April 3 include a lawyer, business coach, business banking advisor, accountant, financing your business expert and business planner.

The session will be held at Airdrie Business Edge, located at 620 - First Ave NW. Airdrie Business Edge is a new facility in Airdrie offering office and workstation rentals for small and home-based businesses. All local businesses are invited to attend the Airdrie Business Edge Wine & Cheese Open House from 6 – 8 p.m. following Ask an Airdrie Expert.

“We’re excited to partner with the Airdrie Business Edge,” says Chamberlain. “This facility offers a much-needed resource in our business community.”
