City launches #ThisisAirdrie contest

AIRDRIE, ALBERTA –The City of Airdrie is holding a #ThisisAirdrie contest and asking residents to submit their one minute or less video about what the city means to them.
The best video, as selected by a panel of judges from the local arts scene, will receive a GoPro HERO4. The video selected by the judges will also be presented in an upcoming City Council meeting and be featured on the City of Airdrie’s website at airdrie.ca.
One winner will be chosen at random from all video submissions and will receive a $50 gift certificate to Avenue Cakery and Bakeshoppe.
“There are so many things that make Airdrie the best community in Canada, and I’m looking forward to seeing how our residents express their love for our city through video,” says Mayor Peter Brown. “I’m not sure I’m eligible, but I might just come up with something myself!”
Videos submissions will be accepted by the submitter uploading to YouTube, and tweeting @City_of_Airdrie with the link and tagging #ThisisAirdrie, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the link.
All videos must be submitted no later than Friday, May 8 at 4 p.m.
