MyAirdrie reaches six month milestone

AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – In December 2014 the City of Airdrie launched MyAirdrie, a new feature on airdrie.ca, which allows residents and business owners to apply for and pay for specific City services online.

“We’ve seen a tremendous response from residents and businesses,” says Lucy Wiwcharuk, Director of Corporate Services. “In just six months we’ve had more than 7,600 MyAirdrie accounts created. Five hundred and ninety-four business licenses and 916 new dog licenses and renewals have been paid for through MyAirdrie.”

“Over 45 per cent of these payments have been made after City Hall’s core business hours,” added Wiwcharuk.

Initially, MyAirdrie allowed residents and business owners to easily view, manage, and pay their utilities, dog and business licenses, and preview tax and assessment bills online. Over the past six months, additional features have been added, and residents can now apply for a new dog license, pay taxes, and renters can view and pay their utility bills online. In addition, payment options through MyAirdrie have been expanded from credit card only to include credit cards, Interac Online and Visa debit.

“We’re very happy to see that residents appreciate being able to view their bills, tickets or notices at their convenience and pay them easily and quickly online,” says Lucy Wiwcharuk.

The City has plans to add additional services, including business license applications, over the next year.
