Eco Art Award – you choose the winner!

September 21, 2015 / For Immediate Release

AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – The City of Airdrie is proud to host the third annual Eco Art Award, sponsored by Vitreous Glass, a competition in which the winner is determined solely by public votes.

“Five artists have each created artwork from recyclables and now the public has an opportunity to vote for the winner,” says Kathleen Muretti, Manager, Waste and Recycling Services.

Residents are encouraged to view the display and vote for their favourite piece. Voting will take place:

Sunday, September 20 - Friday, September 25
21 East Lake Hill, Eastside Recycle Depot in the Environmental Education Centre

Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27
Culture in the Creek

Monday, September 28 to Tuesday, October 13
City Hall

“The Eco Art Award is a unique way to showcase both the creativity of local artists and bring attention to waste and recycling in Airdrie,” adds Muretti.

An award presentation announcing the winner will be held in October in Council Chambers.
