Fire Advisory lifted for City of Airdrie

May 24, 2016/ For Immediate Release

AIRDRIE, AB – The Fire Advisory has been lifted within the City of Airdrie as of 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016. A positive change in weather has lowered the risk of fire that was issued on April 19 due to dry and windy conditions.

To ensure our fire risk within the City of Airdrie remains low, please make certain fire pits and burnable debris practices conform to Airdrie’s Fire Bylaw and never leave any fire unattended.

The City of Airdrie urges everyone to use extreme caution when working or driving in grassy areas as surface material may still be very dry. Residents are asked to be mindful of hot exhaust and keep vehicles clean and free of debris as smoldering debris can fall off and start fires. Please discard cigarette butts appropriately around your property and when driving.

To report a fire – dial 911.
