July 26, 2017 Towerlane apartment fire / AFD Response Details

AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – At 10:18 p.m. on July 26, the Airdrie Fire Department responded to a call at 500 Towerlane Drive where the three story, multi-family apartment building called Towerlane Apartments is located.

Upon arrival, crews found that affected residents had self-evacuated safely.

Displaced residents were hotelled by Airdrie and District Victims Assistance Society overnight and remain displaced until the investigation is complete.

There are no injuries to report.

Five fire apparatus and 13 firefighters were on scene.

The cause of the fire remains under joint investigation by Airdrie RCMP and the Fire Prevention Bureau. Damage estimates are not known at this time.
