AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – On Thursday, February 8 at 3:13 p.m. the Airdrie Fire Department responded to the report of a vehicle fire located on Market Street SE.

On arrival fire crews found a mid-size car completely engulfed in flames in the parking lot of the Toad and Turtle restaurant. The fire had extended to an adjacent pickup truck causing extensive damage to the driver’s side.

Firefighters were able to quickly attack and extinguish the blaze which severely damaged both vehicles.

In order to ensure safe fire operations the immediate area was temporarily cordoned off to traffic.

There were no injuries reported.

Three pieces of apparatus and nine firefighters were on scene.

The cause of the fire and final damage estimates remain under investigation by the Airdrie Fire Department.
