June 18, 2019 / Music in the Park launches July 4
AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – This summer, the City of Airdrie and the Airdrie Music Festival Association are launching a new initiative to bring music to the beautiful new amphitheater in Nose Creek Park.
“Music in the Park will launch on Thursday, July 4 and run every other Thursday evening through July and August from 7 to 9 p.m.” says Community Developer, Rebecca Nielsen. “We believe this is going to be an excellent opportunity to showcase our beautiful park and bring another great summer entertainment option to our City.”
Music in the Park will run July 4, July 18, Aug 1, Aug 15 and Aug 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. The events are open for all ages and free to the public. While there is limited seating in the amphitheater bowl, residents are encouraged to bring their own blanket or festival chair.
“We are very excited to be showcasing a great mix of local and award-winning musical talent each night which includes an opening act and a headliner curated by the International Blues Association,” says Nielsen. “A concession including snacks, drinks and light food service will be available in support of the Airdrie 2020 Alberta Winter Games, with a licensed area provided by Fitzsimmons Brewing Company.”
While a few of our opening acts are to be confirmed we have a great line up prepared including Mitch Belot Band and Tim Williams & Kevin Belzner (July 4), Danny Vacon and Mike Watson (July 18), As High as We Go and Vic Ruggiero & Jory Kinjo (Aug. 1), The Groove Crew (Aug. 15) and Debra Power (Aug. 29).
In the event of severe weather, including high winds, rain, hail, thunder, lightning or snow - the event will be cancelled.
