According to Mike Boyd, Senior Assessor with the City of Airdrie, “The vacancy study is conducted annually so administration can capture data from the local real estate market. Vacancy numbers are critical in analyzing the health of the non-residential market and predicting future growth. Vacancy numbers can also be indicators of a struggling economy and are linked to the success of local businesses. Lower vacancy indicates business is doing well and there is need for more inventory.”

The Vacancy Study is conducted year over year and posted online here
