Registration for Sept. 2020 - June 2021 classes is open.
Due to new guidelines and licensing regulations provided by AHS and Family services, we have adjusted some of our programming.
- To meet cohort requirements, we will not be able to offer an afternoon program.
- Due to the restrictions in the pool, as outlined by AHS and the Lifesaving Society, we will not be able to offer swim lessons to our Monday/Wednesday class.
- Large gatherings are not currently allowed, therefore, we will not be able to have our annual family Christmas gatherings, our family picnics, the family sharing day or our graduation ceremonies. There will also be no field trips planned for the upcoming school year.
- In order to reduce touch points and exposures, our classes will not be leaving the room for September. We will continue to have 30-45 minutes each class doing large motor activities; however, they will be in our regular classroom and not the gym or dance studio.
We will continue to monitor health and licensing regulations and hope to add as many elements as possible back into our program.
4 to 5 year old programs
This program is designed to be a preparation for kindergarten. Children will work on letter identification, number identification, printing their names, patterns and early math activities. Group activities at the table will focus on crafts and learning games. Socially this program encourages building relationships and understanding of our friend’s feelings and our own feelings. In the gym and dance studio we will be focusing on group play, skill development and activities with simple rules and directions. These classes also include two complete sets of swimming lessons.
3 -5 year old program
This class is designed with 1 instructor and 6 participants. It will focus on the unique and individual age development skills and abilities of the whole class.
It will introduce and expand on children’s social and learning environments. Letter identification, numeracy skills, and emotional growth and development will go hand in hand with physical literacy and fundamental movement skill competency.
This class can also be offered with 2 instructors and 7 or more children. With the larger class, the same process and class structure would apply with 1 instructor focused on the younger portion of the class and 1 instructor focused on the older grouping.
As Kids Connection programs celebrate multi-culturalism and children will have the opportunity during the year to share their culture and traditions with the class.
