The City of Airdrie commits to involving youth as active partners:
- In the development, assessment and delivery of City of Airdrie services that have direct and indirect impact on youth
- In engaging the community in addressing the challenges that face youth at the municipal level
- In utilizing the unique strengths and opportunities that youth possess to allow them to guide their community in the direction they wish to see it go
The City's activities around youth are guided by the Airdrie Youth Engagement Strategy Framework, which is updated every five years. The Airdrie Board of Youth Affairs acts as a voice for teens and youth in Airdrie, and works with City departments and Council to ensure that the ideas and concerns of young people are heard.
Through Family and Community Support Services, various local agencies are funded to provide services to youth. Currently, this includes the Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie and Community Links.
