Set up and check in

  • All traffic will be a one-way flow will be from the North end to the South end of the Main Street road closure.
  • NO STOPPING IN THE EMERGENCY VEHICLE LANE (Centre of Main Street).
  • Large displays with trailers, buses, etc. must be set up by 8:30 a.m.
  • To manage traffic congestion, we are asking vendors to drop off materials/unload vehicles and remove vehicles from the parking lot or street within the 30-minute time frame. *Please see vendor shuttle information*
  • Once your vehicle has been removed you will have until 10:30 a.m. to complete booth set up.
  • You need to bring your own tables, chairs, shade tent and display for your 10’x10’ vendor space.
  • If you have a tent each leg MUST be held down by a weight that is 10 lbs minimum.
  • airdrieFEST is an outdoor, “rain or shine” event, plan for all types of weather conditions. No refunds will be made for weather cancellations. Now that registration is closed no further refunds will be made.

CHECK-IN

  • It is mandatory that vendors CHECK-IN prior to setting up.
  • CHECK-IN will be at the entrance of the North end of the Main Street road closure (by Scotiabank).
  • You will receive a map, instructions and be directed to your booth based on your assigned booth number.

  • Please arrive at the North end of the Main Street Road closure (by Scotiabank) at your move in time.
  • Please use the following schedule to determine your slot for unloading. Exceptions to the schedule will not be made.

Parking

You may park at your booth to drop off your booth items to set-up.

Please move your vehicle as soon as you are finished to make way for other vendors.

Vendors are to park in designated parking locations – Vendors can park at the Muriel Clayton parking lot and walk to airdrieFEST or at the George McDougall student parking lot/Town & Country Centre South parking lot and take the Airdrie Transit shuttle to the airdrieFEST site.

Please DO NOT park at Towerlane Mall Centre as this parking is available for the public and customers visiting the event. Security staff will be monitoring parking at Tower Lane Centre.

 

Vendor parking Transit shuttle

A Transit shuttle will be running between the George McDougall Student Parking lot/South Town & Country Centre Parking lot.

The first shuttle will leave the George McDougall Student Parking lot/South Town & Country Centre Parking lot at 9 a.m. to transport vendors back to the airdrieFEST site. The buses will have 10-minute intervals for pick up and departure.

The event officially runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Take down is from 4:05 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Please use the Transit Bus to access your parked vehicle. Those vendors with the earliest move-out times should take the first Transit shuttles to vendor parking.

Frequently asked questions

Can I leave the event early?

You are not permitted to leave before the end of the event. If there is a pressing concern, or emergency, please inform City Staff – Community Development Team.

Where do vendors park?

Vendors can park at the Muriel Clayton parking lot and walk to airdrieFEST or at the George McDougall student parking lot/Town & Country Centre South parking lot and take the Transit shuttle to the airdrieFEST site.

Where are the washrooms?

The washrooms will be located at City Hall and Portable Washroom Trailer will be available.

Should I bring anything else to my booth?

Yes! Tables, chairs, shade tent and anything you want to decorate your space, etc. are your responsibility. Remember to bring snacks and water for the day at your booth.

Is there WIFI to use for Square Payments or ATMs on-site?

WIFI will be unavailable as an outdoor event. Data will need to be used to connect to Square Payments. TD Bank and Scotiabank are located downtown with ATMs available.

What are the rules for vendors in booths that allow generators?

  • Generators must be quiet – maximum 60dB
  • A dry chemical fire extinguisher is required to be installed on or within one meter of each gas/diesel generator; minimum classification rating of 3-A:20-B:C
  • Fuel transfer should not happen on the airdrieFEST site. If your generator requires a refill a spill kit must be available within 1 meter during fuel transfer.
