Utilizing the adage, build it and they will come, Peavey Mart ventured into the Airdrie retail market in April with sights on bringing thousands of products to the surrounding large farm and ranch community, and urban customer base.
"We've been looking for a location for a few years in Airdrie that was right for Peavey Mart and they finally found this one when Rona left," says Peavey Mart Manager, Al Pew.
"We couldn't be happier with our location. You can see the sign from the highway and it's a win-win situation."
Situated on Main Street, just off Yankee Valley Blvd., the big red Peavey Mart sign leads to near unlimited products in over 15 different departments. Separating themselves from other big-box stores, the Canadian owned outlet carries unique products for farm and ranch as well as everyday household needs.
Peavey Mart covers all the product bases from pet, horse and chicken feed – even selling chicks and bee boxes for DYI projects – as well as tools, work clothes, homesteading and home improvement materials.
Their seasonal department blooms with seeding goods, lawn and garden products and gifts and toys for Christmas, which can all be ordered online.
"The buzz we heard on social media is that people were finally happy to see a Peavey Mart in Airdrie. They didn't have to drive to Strathmore or Red Deer," Pew says.
"I know Peavey Mart is very excited to be in Airdrie. For our first six to seven weeks there's been an awesome response from the public and people coming to our store. Being the number one agriculture retail store in Canada, everyone in Airdrie have been supporting us very well."
