Jensen Park is named after the late Knud and Lilly Jensen who settled in Airdrie in 1938. Knud was active as a village councillor serving for almost 10 years. Lilly was involved in the community throughout her life.
Jensen Park was first a horse race track in the 1940’s, then a field for Sports Days where the community would join in together. It then became home to a splash park and is now the location of the Plainsmen Arena and includes a beautiful, shaded park. It has become an outdoor event destination and the current home of the Airdrie Farmer’s Market.
The gazebo located at the park offers a power source and adds a perfect touch to any wedding or event!
