How can you reduce your water use and save money on your water bill?

Did you know that the average Airdrie resident uses 284 litres of water per day?
That’s the equivalent of two full bathtubs of water per person every day!
Here’s some tips that will help you conserve water and save money.

Switch to low-flow toilets
Changing from a 20 to 6 litre toilet could save 81,000 litres of water or almost $300 a year! (based on a four person home flushing four times per person a day)

Harvest rain water using a rain barrel
Rain barrels are low maintenance and easy to use. The water collected is also chlorine-free and the natural temperature makes it great for watering plants.
Rain barrels are available for purchase at the Recycle Depot.
