The City of Airdrie purchases water from the City of Calgary. The water is treated by the City of Calgary and then travels in supply mains to Airdrie reservoirs. From there it is pumped to distribution main pipes where it flows out of the taps in our homes, in businesses and out of hydrants.
The City of Airdrie water distribution lines are approximately 296 kilometres long, and include 3 transmission lines and 3 reservoirs.
