Getting here


If you're arriving by air, you'll be flying into Calgary International Airport (YYC). Airdrie is located just 20 minutes north along the Queen Elizabeth Hwy (QE2). This airport is serviced by 14 airlines, including Air Canada Rouge and West Jet that provide domestic and international travel options.


If you are travelling by car from downtown Calgary, it is a quick and easy 25 minutes north on the QE2. There are three exits to take you into Airdrie. Main Street/downtown is on the west side of the highway. Take the first Yankee Valley exit, turning left, whereas most hotels, Genesis Place recreation centre and Airdrie's industrial area are mainly found on the east, turning right.

Either way, Airdrie is a very drivable, straightforward city to navigate, with its main corridors running East & West; Yankee Valley Blvd, Veterans Blvd. North & South corridors, (listed from west to east), include 24th Street, 8th Street, Main Street, and East Lake Boulevard.


Airdrie Transit offers daily trips from downtown Calgary to Airdrie, as well as the CrossIron Mills Shopping Mall and Rundle LRT (NE Calgary). They also provide local transit options within Airdrie including OnDemand service and ACCESS for those with special needs.


There is currently no direct train routes into Airdrie.
