The Airdrie Fire Department (AFD) is a dynamic, highly trained and competent team that responds to more than 1,300 service incidents annually including, but not limited to:
- fire suppression
- technical rescue
- hazardous material (hazmat)
- medical co-response
Other key services include:
- fire prevention
- public education and information
- emergency preparedness and awareness
- pet rescue program
Our staff members are dedicated and knowledgeable and this transfers into a safe community for our residents.
We service an area of approximately 20,984 acres or 84.92 square kilometres, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our response goes beyond civic boundaries and is covered by service agreements with affected municipalities.
The AFD provides its services by maintaining a multi-million dollar inventory of equipment, administering a vibrant training program for its members and delivering a wide range of public services.
