Foam Rolling 101 Ages 16+
Reduce pain, restore function and improve overall wellness! In this workshop
you will learn to breathe, relax and roll through those tight spots! Discussion will
be focused around benefits, contraindications and proper rolling techniques for
a variety of muscle groups. Bring your own foam roller or use one of ours. All
fitness levels welcome.
Fall Prevention Workshop Ages 16+
Did you know that falls are the leading cause of injuries and hospitalization in
older Canadians? Learn how to prevent falls with basic strength and balance
exercises that can be done at home or the gym. This workshop will provide tips
on how to get up from a fall and help you identify other risk factors that can
contribute to falls.
The human body has over 650 muscles that work together to create movement. In this series, our personal trainers discuss the function and location of commonly targeted muscle groups and make exercise suggestions to help accelerate muscle developement. Each session will target a different section of the body.
A strong core allows you to do more! Not only will a strong core improve your posture and prevent injuries - a strong core will help build your overall endurance, may help prevent back pain, as well as assist you in your functional movements such as squats and pushups. This workshop will teach you how to engage your core by targeting the abs and glutes from every angle. We will use a variety of body weight movements. Level of difficulty; from beginner to intermediate to elite athlete. All inclusive modifications and adjustments will be shown and made for all those who may have a variety of injuries or limited mobility.
Happy Feet Happy Knees
Look past your knees and meet your feet. Learn more about the influence your feet have on knee health by moving your toes and feet today. Be prepared to so some toe and feet exercises on bare feet.
ICG6 Cycle Workshop for Beginners
Learn how to use the ICG6 bikes and maximize your cycling workout! In this 1 hour workshop we will teach you how to properly set-up the bike plus teach you how to use the various settings whether you are joining a group class or cycling on your own. Did you know there is an ICG training APP? We can show you that too! Please wear appropriate workout attire for this session.
Come and learn with a certified instructor the benefits of Nordic pole walking. Pole waking is great aerobic exercise and will include a strength and balancing drill. Also a great way to improve your endurance and core stability.
Please note : Nordic poles are included in this program. Workshops will be held on our indoor walking track. For spring we will be adding classes to our schedule taking part in the beautiful outdoors.
