Upcoming hearings

The Subdivision and Development Appeal Board, in accordance with the Meeting Procedures (COVID-19 Suppression) Regulation (Order in Council 099/2020), will hold virtual hearings to hear the following appeals: 

Appeal 1 (Adjourned from August 24, 2021)

Date/Time of Hearing: Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

Lot 37, Block 1, Plan 8011464 (115 Elk Hill SE) against the decision of the Development Authority to refuse Development Permit Application No. PL2101164 (the "Permit"), for Driveway Widening.

Appeal 2 (Adjourned from June 9, 2021)

Date/Time of Hearing: Tuesday, September, 28, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.

Lot 1, Block 1, Plan 0110936 (5994 Range Road 294 SE, Airdrie, AB) against the Development Authority’s decision to issue a Stop Order dated March 30, 2021, in regards to a Billboard Sign (Digital, Double Sided) without a valid development permit on the subject lands.

Appeal 3 (Adjourned, date not yet set)

Date/Time of Hearing: Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.

Lot 1, Block 8, Plan 0412981 (144 8 Street SW Airdrie, AB) against the decision of the Subdivision Approving Authority to approve Subdivision Application No. MP2101164 subject to a list of conditions.

no later than 12:00 noon, Friday, September 10, 2021. Please clearly note in your correspondence whether your submission is in favour of or against the appeal.

Appeal 4

Date/Time  of Hearing: Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.

Lot 10, Block 9, Plan 1512450 (345 Ravenstern Link SE, Airdrie, AB) against the decision of the Municipal Planning Commission to refuse Development Permit Application No. PL2100925 for a Dwelling, Secondary Suite (One Bedroom).

To make a written submission to the Board, please submit same to the Clerk of the Board by email to Appeals@airdrie.ca, by mail to 400 Main Street SE, Airdrie, AB, T4B 3C3 or by hand delivery to the drop box located at the front doors of City Hall

no later than 12:00 noon, Thursday, September 30, 2021. Please clearly note in your correspondence whether your submission is in favour of or against the appeal.

 

General information for the appeals listed above

Please note that any written submissions will become part of the public record. This means that your submission in its entirety may form part of the public agenda. Personal information will not be severed.

While you will still be permitted to make an oral presentation to the Board at the virtual hearing, the Board requests that you also provide your concerns in writing by the deadline noted above to ensure the Board has adequate time to consider those concerns. It is required that any photographs, diagrams, reports, etc. that you may use in support of your oral presentation be provided in electronic form to the Clerk of the Board prior to the hearing. If not provided prior to the hearing, technological limitations may prevent you from being able to present these items during the hearing itself and the Board may not have the ability to review and consider them during its decision-making process.

Should you wish to make an oral presentation to the Board at the virtual hearing, please register with the Clerk of the Board by email to Appeals@airdrie.ca or by phoning 403-948-8816, providing your name and address and whether you wish to speak in favour of (revoking the decision of the Development Authority to approve the Permit) or against the appeal (confirming the decision of the Development Authority to approve the Permit).
