Mayor's message

On behalf of City Council, welcome to the City of Airdrie website.

Located just minutes north of Calgary, Airdrie is a dynamic, friendly and growing community of over 60,000. As one of Canada's fastest growing communities, it's clear people are discovering our secret: Airdrie offers a 'small town' lifestyle with big city amenities.

Airdrie provides a wide range of housing options in both new and established neighbourhoods, it's easy to find the right home for your family. And your home will be close to the parks, pathways, recreational facilities and special events that make our community a great place to live.

Airdrie offers excellent schools, a health care facility, and a full range of community support services. Recreation facilities are ample including ice surfaces, swimming pools, a state-of-the-art gymnastics facility, an 18-hole golf course, and much, much more. There's no shortage of things to do from Bert Church Live Theatre to a number of activities and clubs for adults and children. Our very special events include the month-long Festival of Lights, Canada Day and Santa Claus parades and the well-known Airdrie Pro Rodeo.

When it comes to employment and business, Airdrie offers a major advantage. Businesses from across Canada are taking advantage of Airdrie's proximity to major markets and transportation routes, including the Calgary International Airport and Queen Elizabeth II Highway. Retail and industrial businesses continue to choose Airdrie for its location, growing consumer market, access to a skilled workforce and both competitive taxes and no local business taxes. For businesses large or small, Airdrie offers industrial land ready to develop, and a supportive business environment.

Whether you are relocating your home or business or visiting Airdrie for the first time, we hope you have a pleasant stay in our community.
