All work completed under a permit must be inspected and can be scheduled through your myAIRDRIE account.

• Requests for next-business-day inspections can be submitted until 6 p.m. (subject to availability).

• Requests for next-busines-day inspections can be submitted until 2 p.m. (subject to availability). 

Cancellations

• Online cancellations for myAIRDRIE bookings: available until 5 p.m. the day before the scheduled inspection.
• Email or phone cancellations: available for all inspections until 8 a.m. on the day of the scheduled inspection.

A fee will be applied at the time of inspection if any of the following is noted:

• No address posted on site
• Inspection not ready
• Previous noted infraction not corrected

Residential building, renovations and projects

• First inspections: required prior to covering or concealing the work. Framing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and gas inspections are required same day.

• Final inspections: final electrical inspections are mandatory. A final inspection for building, HVAC, plumbing and gas may also be required depending on scope of work and at the discretion of the inspectors.

New home construction

Inspections are booked in phases. Individual disciplines cannot book inspections separately and the previous phase of inspections must be complete before the next phase of inspections can be requested.

• Site service inspection: required if not on quick trench program
• Pre-backfill phase: foundation, electrical
• Post and pad inspection: prior to pre-board
• Pre-board phase: framing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and gas inspections
• Insulation and vapour barrier inspection:  if requested on the framing inspection notice
• Final inspection: building, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and gas inspections
