City of Airdrie Library Board

The City of Airdrie Library Board manages library services in Airdrie, including setting community objectives, policies and operations in collaboration with the Library Director. The Board of Directors (trustees) is responsible for budget approval, financial oversight and periodic reassessment of service objectives tailed to community needs. Additionally, the Board established policies for library programs and operations.

Board positions are appointed by Council for up to a 3-year term and may sit for up to three terms. Additional terms must be approved by 2/3 of Council. Six members must be in attendance to meet quorum. The Board includes:

  • Eight citizen members
  • Two elected official positions

Library Board meetings

Meetings are held at City Hall on the last Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and are two to three hours in length. Subcommittees meet on a required basis. Meetings are open to the public.
