Bike Safe Airdrie

The annual Bike Safe Airdrie program (formerly the Airdrie Bike Festival) promotes safe bike riding practices to children and youth who ride independently, but parents can participate as well.

2018 Bike Safe Airdrie

Date:       Saturday, May 26, 2018 (during the Children's Festival)
Times:     10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 12:30 - 2:00 p.m., 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.

During each session, a qualified instructor takes riders through stations, including:

  • helmet adjustment
  • bicycle check and maintenance
  • straight line riding
  • shoulder checking
  • signalling
  • braking

Participants must have an approved bike helmet and a bicycle in good working order. Participants should wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions and closed-toe footwear.

Parents must remain on-site with their children in case of emergency.
