Airdrie, AB – The City of Airdrie welcomes nominations for the 2025 Airdrie Elite Athlete Awards. The awards recognize athletes who have reached an exceptional level of athletic achievement at a sanctioned national or international competition, who have set national or international records or achieved national or international titles while competing.
“The Airdrie Elite Athlete Awards have helped recognize 15 athletes to date,” says, Kim Harris, Culture Specialist. “Each athlete’s accomplishments are commemorated with a plaque displayed on the Elite Athlete Award wall at Genesis Place and a short biography of each recipient can be found on the City’s website.”
The nomination criteria include:
• Have been a resident of Airdrie (as defined by the school attendance boundaries) for a minimum of three-years and have made significant community contributions.
• Reached an exceptional level of athletic achievement at a sanctioned national or international competition, or set national or international records, or achieved national or international titles while competing.
• Team nominations require a minimum of 50 per cent of its members must be Airdrie residents.
Nominations are open through Dec. 31, 2025, and can be submitted at airdrie.ca/eliteathlete.
