Cabin Fever

Embrace the chill on the toboggan hill or face off on the ODR before you sip a cup of sweet cocoa by the bonfire as you beat the end of winter blues at Cabin Fever, Airdrie’s new winter festival!

Join us at Chinook Winds Regional Park on Saturday, Feb. 18 from Noon – 4 p.m. for an afternoon of festive winter activities.

Saturday, Feb. 18 (main event)

Chinook Winds Regional Park, Noon - 4 p.m.

Enjoy the entertainment and take part in your favourite winter activity or try a new one!

  • Tobogganing (bring your sleds, tubes, toboggans and helmets)
  • Outdoor skating (bring your skates, sticks and helmets)
  • Cross-country ski demonstrations and trails (skis available)
  • Axe throwing experience - hosted by Rival Axe Throwing
  • Snow bank treasure hunt
  • Dog activities and demonstrations - hosted by Airdrie Puppy Pals Inc.
  • Electronic dance music by DJ Ashr 
  • Horse drawn wagon rides
  • And more!
Cozy up to the fire and refuel with a sweet treat
  • Hot dog and hot cider station - hosted by Davis Chevrolet GMC Buick with donations to the Airdrie Boys & Girls Club
  • Flapjack and maple syrup station - hosted by Smitty's Family Restaurant with proceeds to the Airdrie Food Bank
  • Maple taffy on snow - hosted by Sugar Shack Trailer 
  • Bonfires, marshmallow roasting and s'mores
  • Coffee roasting experience and rope demonstrations - hosted by Slack Country Coffee Co.

Sunday, Feb. 19

Winter Picnic in the Park 

Nose Creek Regional Park, 3 - 6 p.m.

  • Enjoy an afternoon at the park with a BYOB (bring your own basket) in a winter theme (firepits are available)
  • DJ on Ice with dance music at the amphitheatre
  • Mascots and characters 
  • Skating at the pond (bring your helmets and skates) 

Monday, Feb. 20

Funky Family Day Skate at Plainsmen Arena

  • Make your Family Day fun and funky with this all-ages skate full of retro-rink vibes, laser lights, smoke haze and music - on ice! Pre-purchase tickets to the Funky Family Day Skate for $10 per person. Limited ticket sales will be available at entry with cash or credit (no debit).

Iron Horse Park, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
