Balgray NSP

The City has received an application to amend the South Airdrie Community Area Structure Plan (CASP) by adding Neighbourhood Structure Plan (NSP) details for NW Balgray (click on map ) . The plan area is in the southwest of Airdrie and this portion encompasses approximately 31.34 ha (77.44 ac) of land. NW Balgray is bordered by the established neighbourhood of Hillcrest to the north, the remaining Balgray lands (to be developed by others) to the south and east, and 8 Street SW to the west.

NW Balgray will consist of low- and medium-density residential, commercial, portion of a school site, and open space land uses. An application for rezoning has been submitted as well.

The East Balgray Neighbourhood Structure Plan (click on map) was approved by Council on July 7, 2026. It is included with  the South Airdrie CASP as Part 2. Redestricting for the 36.09 ha (89.17 ac) was approved as well.

How to get involved?
As part of the upcoming planning process, the developer will be soliciting feedback from the public on the proposed plan. It is important that you take the opportunity to participate in shaping how our community grows.

In addition, a public hearing will be held to provide affected stakeholders a final opportunity to provide comments before the plan is considered by Council.
