Candidate profile: Chad Stewart

Hi, Airdrie! My name is Chad Stewart and I have been an Airdrie resident for 29 years. In that time, I have seen the city grow from just over 18,000 people, to more the 85,000! I've had the privilege of working for Eaton, Airdrie, for just over 26 of those years. I worked on the shop floor, developed skills in leadership and moved into a Production Coordinator role, a Supervisor role, then finished my career as a Production Manager. I retired from Eaton on May 31st, 2024. Those positions helped me develop excellent leadership skills, allowed me to work with a variety of people and processes, and really helped me develop an understanding of how business runs.

I also have a further desire to help people and so I became a Primary Care Paramedic and a Firefighter. I am a currently registered PCP with the Alberta College of Paramedics and a Firefighter with Rocky View County. I have been doing this job part time for 16 years.

I support the creative community: I'm a part of the Airdrie writer's group, contributor to Voice and Vision, and, as an author I've published 9 books so far. I believe fiscal responsibility is essential, but that we need to continue to build infrastructure, support affordable housing, support and expand the business community, help develop arts and culture within our community, and keep Airdrie as one of the best places to live in Alberta.
