Downtown incentives, grants and subsidies

The City of Airdrie is committed to revitalizing downtown through a suite of incentives that accelerate redevelopment, enhance aesthetics and support business growth in the heart of our community. Seven streams are available to property owners, developers, business operators and event organizers.

Councils goals for the downtown incentives include:

  • Support local businesses: Help existing businesses grow and attract new ones.
  • Create a vibrant atmosphere: Make downtown a place people want to visit and enjoy.
  • Enhance visual appeal: Improve the look and feel of buildings and public spaces.
  • Encourage private investment: Use public incentives to spark private development.
  • Promote sustainability and accessibility: Build a downtown that’s inclusive and future-ready.

How the program works:

  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing, first-come, first-served basis
  • Funding is available until programs close or funds are exhausted
  • Each stream has specific eligibility criteria and application requirements
  • Applicants may be eligible for multiple streams
