Main Street reconstruction

Main Street between Elk Hill and Erin Drive is being rebuilt starting early July 2025. This work is driven by a 2024 geotechnical evaluation that identified the need to rehabilitate the road structure to maintain long-term safety and reliability on this key arterial route. The project includes full road reconstruction through a phased approach, intersection upgrades and improved pedestrian access.

This project is different from previous Main Street work north of Elk Hill, which focused on replacing underground utilities like water, sanitary and stormwater pipes.

New traffic signals

Signals at Towerlane and Elk Hill are scheduled to be turned on by June 25. These will improve safety and flow in advance of Inspire opening.

  • Once the Towerlane signal is operational, the mid-block pedestrian crossing near ATB will be removed
  • Landscaping and curb repairs will follow

Traffic during construction

  • Two lanes (one in each direction) will stay open
  • Turning may slow traffic at times
  • Some access restrictions or detours will affect churches and neighbourhoods in the area
