The Environmental Advisory Board is made up of five citizen representatives and two Council representatives. The Board advises Council in the design and promotion of practical programs to enhance, protect and conserve Airdrie's environment and to share and celebrate our successes in a way that resonates with residents.
The Board is responsible for providing advice on design and promotion of practical programs in Airdrie with the primary objective of reducing the amount of garbage in the waste stream and development of environmental policies and procedures. The Board also reviews potential projects that could either directly, or indirectly enhance Airdrie's environment.
Members are appointed annually by Council at the organizational meeting in October.
Meetings are held in Council Chambers located at 400 Main Street on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. and are usually one to two hours in length. Meetings are open to the public.
