Productivity Alberta to deliver training in Airdrie

March 1, 2013

AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – Airdrie Economic Development and the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to help local companies learn how productivity enhancements can improve their bottom line.

Experts from Productivity Alberta will deliver two learning opportunities for Airdrie businesses on March 20.

The event starts with a luncheon address titled 10 Simple Ways to Improve Performance during the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce’s regular lunch meeting. The session is geared to any business, regardless of industry, size or location.

The afternoon session is focused specifically on productivity theory and its application to home-based and store-front businesses in retail, office and professional service environments.

“We’re very excited about this session,” says Leona Esau, Economic Development Officer. “We saw an opportunity to educate a niche of local businesses. Productivity Alberta is a fantastic resource and they jumped at the chance to work with us on this session.”

Productivity 101 for Retail & Professional Businesses is a three-hour workshop and participants will leave with the tools they need to create a productivity action plan for their business.

“It is proven that productivity improvements have a direct impact on a business’s bottom line,” says Lori Schmidt, CEO of Productivity Alberta. “Traditionally our training has focused on industrial and construction businesses but the principles can be applied to any operation. Airdrie is being very proactive in requesting this workshop and we’re happy to deliver it.”

The luncheon and workshop run Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 1:15 – 4:30 p.m. respectively at Woodside Golf Course. Businesses can register for one or both events. For more information and to register online, visit or call Airdrie Economic Development at 403-948-8844.
