Property assessments are determined annually and estimate a property’s market value as of July 1 of the previous year, along with its physical condition as of December 31. These assessments help calculate its fair share of community tax, as required by the Municipal Government Act.
Assessment notices are sent before property tax notices, giving owners 60 days to review their property’s value and details and raise any concerns before taxes are calculated.
