Manage push notifications

What are push notifications?

A push notification is a short message sent directly to your device (phone, tablet or computer). If you enable push notifications, myAIRDRIE can send you information, even when the site isn’t open on that device.

Push notifications can include important updates related to your myAIRDRIE account and City services. You can customize which notifications you receive and once signed up, you may receive notifications about upcoming payments or bills, service updates or reminders and your account activity.

Available notification types may vary depending on the services linked to your account.

Add push notifications

To enable push notifications:

  • Go to Alerts and reminders,
  • Select the Push notifications link at the top of the page,
    • If you're enabling from a Apple device and do not see the Push notification link, you will need to install a shortcut first.
  • Select Enable push notifications in this browser,
  • Then you can choose which notifications you would like to have by clicking Edit and selecting the Push checkbox for the notifications you would like to receive. Learn more about managing alerts and reminders

You can adjust your preferences at any time to ensure you’re getting the information that’s most relevant to you. When you link a service (e.g. tax account), notification options for that service will automatically appear. You can return later to review and manage them as needed.

Notification permissions are browser-specific, so you'll need to turn them on separately in each browser and device you use.

Turn off push notifications

If you no longer want to receive push notifications, you'll need to disable them in each browser or device you originally set them up in.

  •  Go to Alerts and reminders,
  • Select the Push notifications link at the top of the page,
  • Unselect Enable push notifications in this browser,
  • You will no longer receive push notifications until you reenable them for that device.
