Your ideas can change our city! The Airdrie Board of Youth Affairs (ABYA) is excited for local youth to become engaged in our community through this new initiative. We’re looking for inspired and innovative Airdrie youth who have great ideas that will benefit young people in our community. If you’re 12-18-years-old and have an idea you want to put into action, apply now for an Airdrie Youth Grant.
Projects should be:
• Located in Airdrie
• Initiatives that directly benefit Airdrie youth
• Planned and implemented by youth ages 12-18 (while priority will be given to youth-initiated projects, some adult support is welcome)
Applicants will be notified of the results within a month of the application period deadline. This grant will be overseen by the Airdrie Board of Youth Affairs.

Some project examples include:
Size of Grant: Up to $1,500
Who Can Apply: Airdrie youth (ages 12-18) – youth may apply with informal grassroots groups, nonprofit societies, registered charities, and schools. But the project must be youth led.
When to Apply: Twice a year in March and May
Turnaround: Funds are awarded to successful applicants in May and June. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified at these times.
Follow-up Required: Within one year of receiving the grant, share your success with a simple 1-3-page final report, participation tracking, financial documentation, and photos.
Next Application Deadline: April 14, 2025
Size of Grant: Up to $300
Who Can Apply: Airdrie youth ages 12-18
When to Apply: Applications are accepted in March, May and September 2025
Turnaround: Funds are awarded to successful applicants in May, June and October. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified at these times.
Follow-up Required: Just drop us an email, send a photo, or give us a call to share your success story.

Microgrant funds could be used for, but not limited to:
• Food
• Renting space
• Prizes
• Project Supplies
• Transportation
We do NOT fund:
• For-profit ventures or individuals
• Conference fees or tuition costs
• Individuals directly in the form of salary
• Non-inclusive activities.
